K3 concert and Safety Patrol

Dear Parents, Concert:  For those in K-3 we want to remind you of the concert this evening. You childs community will have communicated to you when you are to have your child at the school. We would like to encourage all parents to walk to this event. Parking, as we all know, is extremely limited and we do not want to see cars parked on the road. Also, after the concert finishes Ms. Tamara will make an announcement. We hope that you can spare a few minutes of your time to help stack chairs and return the instruments to the … Continue reading K3 concert and Safety Patrol

K-3 Parents: We Need Your Help!

Attention K-3 families: This Thursday evening we will be treated to a great winter concert. Ms. Tamara, our incredible music teacher, has worked really hard with the kids to prepare a fun concert. After the concert I would like to ask for all the parents help. All the instruments will need to be returned to the K5 music room and all the chairs will need to be stacked. If we all lend a hand this should only take us 10 minutes to clean up. And it would be a great “thank you” to Ms. Tamara! See you all Thursday at … Continue reading K-3 Parents: We Need Your Help!

LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Just a friendly reminder to sign up as a lunch volunteer in the coming months. It’s a great opportunity to talk with other parents and to see your kids out playing at lunch! If everyone who participated in the lunch program volunteered once we would have enough volunteers for the year! We are currently short some days every week and it is disheartening to the core volunteers who take time out of their busy schedules every week to keep this fundraising going. The funds are essential to the programs, activities and materials that all students and teachers at Norma Rose … Continue reading LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Happy New Year to all of you. Hard to believe it is almost time for the kids to get back to school. Just a reminder that, due to the unexpected and abrupt beginning of the holidays, the Cedar Community (Grade 3`s) will be having their Pyjama Day on Monday!! Dress your child in pyjamas, send their favorite book and blanket and pillow (if they wish). For those other communities that were to have pyjama day or camp out I will connect with the teachers and see if they will be re scheduled. Stay tuned! Happy Holiday and Thank You ALL!

Well despite this not being the way any of us expected the Winter Break to start, I would like to thank all the staff and parents of NRP from the bottom of my heart. Sometimes we just have to take these challenges that nature throws at us and embrace it. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Omisoka, another holiday or no holiday I wish everyone the very best over the next 2 weeks. A very special THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK to Karen Noel-Bentley who is moving to be the Vice Principle of another school in … Continue reading Happy Holiday and Thank You ALL!

VSB deemes NRP school CLOSED today

Dear parents Here is an update that the school has been asked to send out from the VSB. Wind Storm NRP Update 12/20/2018 8:52 PM General Dear NRP Parents, During lunch time today, the power went out at NRP.  I wasn’t sure if it was the electrical crew that was working at NRP, but soon discovered it was a power outage due to the wind storm. Once the students were settled into class, I made my rounds of the communities to inform either classes or teachers that it was a BC Hydro issue.  Classes were progressing as usual.  We have … Continue reading VSB deemes NRP school CLOSED today
