AGM Agenda, Call for Books/Puzzles…

Dear Families,

We are only a few days away from the PAC Agm on Tuesday October 3 from 6:30-7:30pm.

Please find attached a copy of the Agenda : PAC AGM AGENDA 2017

and a Copy of the PAC Executive Nomination Form: NRP PAC Executive – 20172018 (2)

Also we will present the PAC Report: 2015_16 PAC Report

After putting forward for approval the budget items we will launch into a discussion about “Curriculum 101”.  We are extremely fortunate to have two of the Alder Community teachers and Karen Noel-Bentley attending the meeting this time. They will be able to help us guide you through some of the important pieces you as a parent need to know. If you have any specific questions about the Curriculum you would like to make sure are addressed at the meeting, please email it to us at rosepointpac@gmail.com

We are so fortunate to have so many new and amazing teachers starting at NRP this year. With this comes the challenge of some communities lacking important things. The grade 3 and 5 community in particular is in need.

               BOOK DRIVE!

If you have gently used Fiction and Non Fiction books that are appropriate for ages 8-11. (Sci-fi, mystery, action, books about countries, animals….) and are willing to donate them to the school, please drop them off outside the main office. We will set up a box for donations.

               Game/Puzzle and Art Supply Drive:

For Grade 1 and 2 kids: We are also asking that if you have gently used puzzles (100 piece is ideal), Games (like Monopoly junior, Candyland, Scrabble Jr..), cards (Memory games).

Finally: art supplies like bits of cloth, felt, crayons, pencil crayons, paints, sm. cardboard boxes, egg cartons, toilet paper rolls…to please drop it off as well. Many communities around the school use these items for art projects

Orange Shirt Day:  Friday NRP will be celebrating Orange Shirt Day. This is an opportunity for First Nations, governments, schools and communities to come together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope of children to come.
