  Robotics Team wins 1st Place Champion’s Award at Tournament Congratulations to the Norma Rose Point Robotics team Forces of Atlantis for winning 1st Place Champions Award at the FIRST LEGO League Lower Mainland Tournament, which was held on December 3rd at North Surrey Secondary. Food Bank Drive

It’s this time of year, the annual Food bank drive has started at NRP. Each year NRP will donate food to either the Greater Vancouver Food Bank or the UBC Food Bank. We would like to encourage each and every student to bring one or more food item(s) (non-perishable food items only) for donation before Dec. 19. Boxes can be found within each community as well as by the main foyer. Tickets are still available for purchase for the Mugeta Fundraiser tomorrow December 7 from 5:30-7:30pm. This is a time when any child from K-8 is invited to spend 2 hours playing games, eating popcorn and watching a movie….all with the amazing staff of NRP! Cost is just $10. UNA Nature Club UNA Nature Club is a free program for campus residents and will pick up in 2018 on Sunday, January 7. Running the first Sunday of every month, campus families are invited to drop in between 10:30 am – 1:00 pm to enjoy all of our regular museum programming, including museum tours, Raising Big Blue movie, and special hands-on activities just for you! Petition Request – Henry Hudson Elementary PAC

Henry Hudson Elementary PAC’s Seismic Upgrade Committee is supporting a petition started by a Hudson parent calling upon the new provincial government to follow up on its stated objective of accelerating seismic upgrades for the remaining high-risk schools throughout the province.  They would welcome participation from all other PACs in Vancouver – please help them increase the number of signatures by signing the petition through the link. https://www.change.org/p/the-honourable-rob-fleming-bc-minister-of-education-accelerate-seismic-upgrades-for-high-risk-bc-schools Together we can demonstrate to the government (while it is preparing the budget for the coming year) that this concern remains high among parents across the province.
