NRP PAC Update – Bike to School Week starts tomorrow

Bike to School Weeks runs June 1 through June 5

Norma Rose Point will be part of Bike to School Week next week, June 1 through 5! We are excited to celebrate and encourage active transport in our community, for fun, health and sustainability.

  • Active transport bike logs! Parents and students can now self-report or log any form of active transport, such as biking, scooting or walking. This replaces the manual counting that volunteers did in previous years. Please make sure you log active transport here. We will be submitting these numbers to HUB Cycling to compare our efforts across other schools in BC! See attached poster.
  • Bike Week Raffle! All students logging active transport will be entered to win prizes! The draw will be announced on Friday, June 5 in the morning. In recognition that not all students are able to participate in active transport, all students who submit active-transport related artwork to the front office by Thursday, June 4 will also have the chance to win prizes.
  • Free Bike Tune-ups! The Bike Kitchen is offering bike tune-ups at Acadia Park Commonsblock (parking lot) every Wednesday from 4 to 6 pm this summer! Announcement attached.

Gratitude to NRP volunteers and teachers, PAC, UBC Campus and Community Planning, HUB Cycling and Bike Kitchen for their partnership and support for Bike to School Week.
