On February 5th, 2018, we are asking parents to participate in a interactive fair day at the school!
We have such a diverse school and as we’re constant learners and explorers we love giving the opportunity to our children to both share their culture with friends AND learn about the cultures of other students.
The details:
What: Setting up an interactive ‘booth’ (tables are set up) with some kind of content to share your culture.
When: February 5th, 2018 – All day from 9:00 am – 2:45 pm,
Where: the larger gym at Norma Rose Point
What: communities from the K-5 school will each spend 30-45 minutes exploring the booths
How: Volunteers are on-hand for set up and take down, Middle School volunteers are also available to help you ‘work’ your booth – they are great in doing crafts and games with kids, just a little training needed!
In the past, we had families from Peru, Chili, Brazil, Mexico, India, Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Mongolia, Israel, Saudia Arabia, Canada, China, South Korea, the Ukraine, Bulgaria, Japan as well as a group of Indigenous people share with the school – it was a great experience and we hope to see even more folks!
If you’re interested please email PAC (rosepointpac@gmail.com) – we will be holding an info session in the next couple of weeks, but are happy to start answering questions and coordinating as soon as possible.
If you’re interested but are concerned that you need help from other parents, please let us know – there are parents that like to buddy up!
