Just a reminder about the PAC Meeting tomorrow, Wednesday December 5th from 6:30-7:30pm in the NRP Learning Commons. I have attached a copy of the Agenda. This is a great opportunity to get our financial update as well as hear from Rosa and Karen about Inquiry Learning and the reporting style at NRP. I have built in enough time for your questions. One of NRP`s amazing Grade 8 students has designed an amazing school fundraiser and PAC is so proud to be supporting her. Her idea? Gather gently used books, toys, and games from NRP families and sell them for a Loonie $1 or a Toonie $2 (please note that if there are larger items then prices may vary but the idea is to make this a fun, affordable way to re purpose and buy gifts). Please ensure your child is well dressed for the rainy Vancouver weather. For those who attended school in BC, you will remember that throughout your childhood, rain (or snow) never stopped children from playing outside at recess and lunch. Sometimes schools had a basement, sometimes an undercover area, sometimes neither. Regardless, we were encouraged to dress for the weather and “get some fresh air.” We continue to share the same message with children since we live in Vancouver and it rains more than we like! One of our amazing parents, Fariba, is organizing the Grade 7 and 8 Hoodies. A group of 4 parents came today to size the kids who ordered. We are looking for 1-2 more parents – Preferably Grade 8 parents so they can support their children – to help tomorrow morning. Remembrance Day Ceremonies: Each year the school holds Remembrance Day Ceremonies. This year the K-4 ceremony will take place Thursday at 9:45am. The Grade 5-8 Ceremony will be held at 11:00am. Parents are welcome to attend. Please note that this ceremony is a silent one so no clapping or talking throughout please. All children will wear a Poppy. If you do not have one, your child may get one from the office. There are also donation boxes there if you wish to donate a loonie or a toonie.
