Bike 2 School week is next week! Get your tires pumped and your chains greased!
Every morning from June 2 to June 6th, our volunteers will be counting everyone who bikes, rolls and walks to school. Any kind of active transportation counts but bikes count the most! Students will receive prizes everyday they bike, walk or roll to school so please come by our tables to get those!
Last year Norma Rose Point was a “gold” school and the #2 school in the Wednesday Winners contest because of our amazing biking and walking culture! Vancouver School District had the most bikes, walks and rolls to school of any participating school district in BC and NRP was definitely a key part of that! Let’s keep it up and make it even better this year!
**Special Guests**
Tues, June 3 from 240-330PM: Register your bike with Project 529
Fri, June 6 from 830-915AM: Register your bike with Project 529

Wesbrook Neighbourhood Plan Update
Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and energy to help update the Wesbrook Place Neighbourhood Plan. The process is nearly complete. The final draft of the updated plan, as well as a summary of community engagement, has been shared with the UBC Board of Governors for consideration.
· Read the report submitted to UBC Board of Governors Property Committee
· Read the Final draft updated Wesbrook Place Neighbourhood Plan
· Read the Wesbrook Place Neighbourhood Plan Update: Engagement Summary Report
The updates to the plan focus on Wesbrook Place South, a new hub of community activity, housing, amenities and services located in the southern portion of the neighbourhood.
The process involved community engagement and extensive technical analysis and design testing. Between October 2024 and April 2025, UBC engaged with the university community (primarily residents of Wesbrook), University Neighbourhoods Association (UNA), UBC Properties Trust, project advisory committees, the AMS, external service providers, and neighbouring stakeholders.
Updating the Wesbrook Place Neighbourhood Plan is the first major step in implementing Campus Vision 2050, the long-range plan for how UBC’s Vancouver campus will change and grow to support the needs of the university, its students, faculty, residents, staff, and Musqueam.
Approval of the updated plan and formal adoption by UBC’s Board of Governors will enable the completion of Wesbrook Place over the next decade, including more UBC housing, new amenities and services to keep pace with growth, open and green spaces, child care, and transportation improvements. The Board of Governors’ Property Committee meets on June 2nd to review the updated plan and engagement summary report and consider approval. The full Board of Governors would then adopt the plan at the meeting on June 20th.

Summer Program at Christianne Lyceum
As the days get warmer and the sun shines brighter, we wanted to reach out with our primary and intermediate summer camp lineup for young writers, artists, and creatives of all kinds at Christianne’s Lyceum of Literature and Art.
The Lyceum is a cozy living room, a specialized library, a well-equipped studio, and a whimsical art gallery bound up in one. It’s a place that brings together writers, illustrators, educators, and families to share different schools of thought, the richness of story in its many forms, and diverse ways of making meaning.
