Get Involved in the Upcoming Spring Fair!

We’re looking for the following:

  • On-the-Day Supervisors: Support the Spring Fair Committee by volunteering on the day of the event.
  • Community Booths: Are you part of a community organization interested in hosting a booth at the Spring Fair? We’d love to hear from you!
  • Sponsorship Opportunities: We offer sponsorship packages to help fund various aspects of the Spring Fair. In return, we will acknowledge your sponsorship! 
  • Silent Auction Donations: Do you have an item or service to donate to our silent auction? Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Cantonese Class at Wesbrook Community Centre

Thursdays | 3:30 – 4:30 PM

April 10 – June 12, 2025

This fun and dynamic class builds foundational Cantonese literacy skills through cultural learning, interactive story-telling, games, and creative expression. Interactive materials will be used to solidify children’s confidence with vocabulary, character recognition, and grammar. Suitable for children with all levels of experience with Cantonese, including absolute beginners. Optional online parent sessions guide families who wish to support their child’s learning outside of the classroom.

Last Chance for Early Bird Savings – Summer Programs at the Chan Centre

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at UBC is offering two exciting summer camps in July, where children (ages 6–12) can explore music through digital media in a fun and creative environment. Early bird savings of $50 end this Sunday, March 16, and spots are filling up quickly!


Cue the Music: Film Music & Stop-Motion Animation – Ages 6-9
July 14-18 (9am-4pm) 
July 27-August 1 (9am-4pm)

Lights, camera, action! Have you ever wanted to create and score your own stop-motion movies in the style of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Wallace & Gromit, and Flushed Away? In this camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of music, craft DIY musical instruments, and work in teams to explore digital music composition for film and TV using Garageband. In the afternoon, campers will learn how to produce, film, and edit their own stop-motion animations using Stop Motion Studio. On the final day, campers can invite their friends and family to a film screening of their animations, complete with their very own music! Are you ready to take a seat in the director’s chair?

Note to parents/guardians: No prior experience in music, Garageband, or animation required.


Press Start: Video Game Music & Game Development – Ages 8-12

Initializing… Loading… Ready player one! Dive into the wonderful world of video games with Press Start: Video Game Music & Game Development! In this camp, campers will learn the fundamentals of music, craft their own musical instruments, and work in teams to explore digital video game music composition using Garageband. In the afternoon, our music studio will become a game studio as campers explore the ins and outs of video game design, learn coding, and create awesome programs using Scratch. At the end of the week, campers will showcase a playable video game featuring their own music to their friends and family! Are you ready to press start? ;p;,
