The NRP PAC wishes you all a wonderful and restful winter break! On Tuesday Jan 14, from 8:45-9:30 am, join us by the Multipurpose Room for our Welcome Back Coffee/Tea and Treats for a chance to re-connect with other NRP Families. Bring your own mug to help us save on disposable cups! Note: All language speakers welcome.

Hot Lunch Update
1. Hot Lunch will be made available the first week of next semester from January 6 – 10, 2025. Due to the system setup, the deadline for the first week will be 11:00 pm on Dec 31, 2024 (New Year Eve). Please set up a reminder on your phone or place orders in advance.
2. Ordering Issues: All students are encouraged to advocate themselves by speaking up and reaching out to lunch volunteers right away when there is an ordering issue. Parent Volunteers are available daily to assist students on-site between 11:20 am – 12:50pm. Please find them near the main office.

After School Program Opportunities
Our beloved French program continues to thrive with a play-based, immersive approach that makes learning French fun and engaging. Next term, we’re enhancing the experience with more structured activities to build students’ language skills while keeping learning joyful and interactive.
We are also proud to partner with the Bachelor of Education – French Teacher Program at UBC’s Faculty of Education. As an official practicum site, we will welcome teacher candidates next term, bringing fresh and innovative teaching ideas to enrich our students’ learning experience.
Program Details:
- Schedule: Every school day, 3:30–5:00 pm (Flexible days available; attending at least 2 days/week is recommended for optimal learning)
- Duration: January 6 – June 27, 2025 (excluding school vacations)
- Cost: $45/day ($30/hour)
- Location: 5210 University Blvd, Vancouver, BC V6T 2H5
- Pick-Up Service: Available from Norma Rose Point School and UHill Elementary School for $5/day (3:00–3:30 pm)
- Age group: K-5

We’re excited to launch our Chinese Language Program for K-2 students this January! This weekly program is a fantastic way for children to explore the Chinese language and culture in a vibrant and engaging environment.
Designed to meet the unique learning needs of local students, our curriculum is tailored to each student’s proficiency level. It incorporates trusted resources such as K12 Standard Chinese and Yu Wen, and supports preparation for the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test. Upon program completion, students will qualify to take the test—or even earn HSK Level 1 or Level 2 certification through our internal assessment in collaboration with the Chinese Learning and Testing Centre.
Program Details:
- Schedule: Every Thursday, 3:00–5:00 pm
- Duration: January 9 – June 26, 2025 (21 sessions; no class on March 20, March 27, April 24, and May 1)
- Location: UHill Elementary School, Class 103
- Cost: $60/session ($30/hour)
- Age group: K-2
