Hello Norma Rose Point PAC,

I am a mother of two young children and an incoming VSB parent. I’m reaching out today with an early heads up: Planning is now underway for the Global Climate Strike, happening this fall on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) lands / Vancouver.

This September, thousands of young people, students, parents, teachers and community members will gather to demand urgent action on climate change. As a parent, I can’t wait for this opportunity to band together and show our elected officials that they have strong public support for leaving fossil fuels and climate destruction in the past, and transitioning to a cleaner, safer, truly sustainable future for our children.

If any families or teachers from your school are interested in helping us organize this demonstration over the summer, please let me know! Or they can email vanclimatestrike@gmail.com any time.
