There is a parent education opportunity this evening via our District PAC. Please see below for more information:
Vancouver DPAC is excited to bring the conversation around SOGI to our district and our families. On May 23, we will have Mischa Oak (he/him) from LGBTQ Corporate Training provide information on SOGI-123 and how it is relevant to public education. In his talk, Mischa will cover:
- Understanding SOGI
- Creating a community of allies
- 2SLGBTQ+ 101
- What to say. What not to say.
- Understanding where anti-SOGI pushback is coming from
- How to talk about SOGI
- Supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth
After an educational and informative online talk, we will have the opportunity to ask questions to better understand how SOGI is part of our school community and why it is important.
Mischa Oak is a former BC teacher who has dedicated his career to helping others foster diversity and Two-Spirit & LGBTQ+ inclusion excellence.
